During this season the whole country is dry and sunny where there is barely any rainfall. Summer Season start from June to August which the Jordan receives around 13 hours of sunshine a day. The temperature can reach to 40°C and above specially when the Sirocco (a humid wind occurring over northern Mediterranean Sea and southern Europe, where it brings uncomfortably humid air). It also causes sandstorms when these winds can be strong.
Highest temperature are in coasts of the Dead Sea and Valley of Jordan River. At August, the hottest month of a year, daytime temperature rises to 38-42 °C (100-108 °F). Eastern resort area is bit cooler. The capital located on highlands in north-western part of the country temperature is even lower – 33 °C (91 °F), while Aqaba's weather in the south is similar to the Jordan valley’s but with less rainfall. For visitors who wish to explore the desert and coastal city of Aqaba, summer is not the best time to go. In this part of the country, visitors can expect intense heat which is particularly difficult for hikers.
Longer daylight hours allow for more sightseeing, making it an excellent time to visit if you only have a few days to spare. Additionally, prices and crowds both see a significant drop in the summer months.
Try to start your tour early morning or late and midday sun can reach high temperature. However, if you are not adversely affected by heat it is still worth considering a trip at this time as you will have sites like Petra almost to yourself.
