Tbilisi City Tour

Sameba Cathedral

Begin your Georgia tour with a whole day visit of its capital city, Tbilisi. Your first stop is the Sameba Cathedral, also known as the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Located in the Avlabari district, it's the tallest cathedral in Georgia. From the churchyard, you will have a panoramic view of the Mtatsminda Mountain and the city below.

Matekhi Church

Visit to the historic Metekhi Church, dating back to the 13th century. Perched on the rocky bank of the Mtkvari River, it's a symbol of resilience through the ages.

Narikala Fortress

Next, head to Rike Park in the downtown area, where an exciting cable car ride awaits to take you up to the ancient Narikala Fortress. This fortress, built in the 4th century, offers more than just history - it treats you to panoramic views of the old city.

LegvtaKhevi

Continue to the LegvtaKhevi canyon and waterfall, meander through the famous Sulfur bathhouse district, and wander the narrow streets of Cotton Row, Iron Row, Shardeni, and Erekle II. These alleys are dotted with cozy cafes, art galleries, and souvenir shops.

Glass Bridge of Peace

A long day of driving to Kutaisi with several visits along the way is ahead of you. Visit the ancient city of Mtskheta, once the capital of Georgian Kingdom Iberia to visit 2 of iconic landmarks that is listed in the UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Learn about its rich history as you visit the revered Jvari Monastery, a marvel of 6th-century architecture. Be stunned by the grandeur of the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, constructed in the 11th century.

Gori

Continue to the town of Gori, the historical nucleus of the Kartli region. Take an easy walk up to the Gori Fortress. Discover it’s history at the museum of Joseph Stalin that displays personal items, gifts, and even his private train, providing insight into the life of the enigmatic leader.

Uplistsikhe

A mere 12 km from Gori, see the Uplistsikhe cave complex. This ancient marvel dates back to the Early Iron Age, constituting the oldest urban settlement in Georgia. The town, carved into the rock, boasts an intricate design that imitates wooden structures on the ceilings. Explore secret tunnels and passages connecting chambers and halls, leading towards the river and the park.

Rikoti Pass

Travel to Imereti region through the scenic Rikoti Pass, the natural divider between East and West Georgia. Stopby the Gelati Academy and Monastery. Founded in the 12th century, this UNESCO site is celebrated for its intricate mosaics and frescoes adorning the main church. Witness the breathtaking sunset that paints the sky with hues of gold and orange though the western window of the medieval academy building.

Kutaisi – Prometheus Cave – Ananuri – Gudauri

Morning time, briefly visit the historic Bagrati Cathedral, perched atop the hill of Ukimerioni. A former residence of the Bagrationy Royal Dynasty, this cathedral was erected in the early 11th century. It holds deep significance, dedicated to the unification of all Georgian Kingdoms, reflecting the nation's unity and heritage.

Prometheus Caves

Next, to the Prometheus Caves, also known as Kumistavi. Enter the cave trails that unveil a natural formations, like stalactites, stalagmites, petrified waterfalls. These caves are a geological wonder, with each of the six caves boasting distinctive characteristics and unique shapes of petrified flow stones.

Georgian Military Road

Drive back to the eastern Georgia as we make our way to Gudauri, following the iconic Georgian Military Road. Enroute, stop near the Zhinvali Reserve and visit the majestic Ananuri Fortress, a relic from the 16th and 17th centuries. The fortress served as the residence of the Aragvi Eristavi, a local duke who wielded control over the key trade route to the North.

Gudauri

Continue to drive along the Caucasus Mountains to your accommodation in Gudauri. Enjoy the dinner and overnight.

Gudauri – Kazbegi – Gergeti – Dariali – Gweleti – Tbilis

Pause at the observation platform of the Peace Monument, where panoramic views of the surrounding mountains await, offering a serene start to your day.

Jvari Pass

Reach the Jvari Pass at an elevation of 2395 meters, marking the highest point on the road. Here, you will be surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Caucasus Mountains. Discover the unique pinkish travertine mount and encounter a mineral spring, showcasing the fascinating geological diversity of the region.

Stephantsminda

The journey continue to Stephantsminda, the vibrant center of the Kazbegi municipality, and prepare yourself for the hike.

Mount of Gergeti

Start the hike to Mount Gergeti with an elevation of 2010 meters, you'll reach the medieval Gergeti Trinity Church (14th c.). The church offers spectacular views of the white river clouds streaming from the Dariali Canyon, creating a mystical atmosphere. This site is also the starting point for alpinists en route to Mountain Peak Kazbegi (5054m). This hike takes approximately 2.5 hour roundtrip, depending on to your physical fitness.

Dariali

Discover the narrow pass through Dariali Gorge. Here, you'll encounter the Archangels' church, a relatively recent addition built in the 20th century near the Georgia-Russian border.

Gveleti Waterfalls

Another short hike towards the pristine waterfalls of Gveleti.

Tbilisi
