Tbilisi City Tour

Sameba Cathedral

Begin your Georgia tour with a whole day visit of its capital city, Tbilisi. Your first stop is the Sameba Cathedral, also known as the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Located in the Avlabari district, it's the tallest cathedral in Georgia. From the churchyard, you will have a panoramic view of the Mtatsminda Mountain and the city below.

A long day of driving to Kutaisi with several visits along the way is ahead of you. Visit the ancient city of Mtskheta, once the capital of Georgian Kingdom Iberia to visit 2 of iconic landmarks that is listed in the UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Learn about its rich history as you visit the revered Jvari Monastery, a marvel of 6th-century architecture. Be stunned by the grandeur of the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, constructed in the 11th century.

Continue to the town of Gori, the historical nucleus of the Kartli region. Take an easy walk up to the Gori Fortress. Discover it’s history at the museum of Joseph Stalin that displays personal items, gifts, and even his private train, providing insight into the life of the enigmatic leader.

Uplistsikhe

A mere 12 km from Gori, see the Uplistsikhe cave complex. This ancient marvel dates back to the Early Iron Age, constituting the oldest urban settlement in Georgia. Explore secret tunnels and passages connecting chambers and halls, leading towards the river and the park.

Next, to the Prometheus Caves, also known as Kumistavi. Enter the cave trails that unveil a natural formations, like stalactites, stalagmites, petrified waterfalls. Georgian Military Road

Drive back to the eastern Georgia as we make our way to Gudauri, following the iconic Georgian Military Road. Enroute, stop near the Zhinvali Reserve and visit the majestic Ananuri Fortress, a relic from the 16th and 17th centuries. The fortress served as the residence of the Aragvi Eristavi, a local duke who wielded control over the key trade route to the North.

The journey continue to Stephantsminda, the vibrant center of the Kazbegi municipality, and prepare yourself for the hike.

Mount of Gergeti

Start the hike to Mount Gergeti with an elevation of 2010 meters, you'll reach the medieval Gergeti Trinity Church (14th c.). The church offers spectacular views of the white river clouds streaming from the Dariali Canyon, creating a mystical atmosphere. This site is also the starting point for alpinists en route to Mountain Peak Kazbegi (5054m). This hike takes approximately 2.5 hour roundtrip, depending on to your physical fitness.

Dariali

Discover the narrow pass through Dariali Gorge. Here, you'll encounter the Archangels' church, a relatively recent addition built in the 20th century near the Georgia-Russian border.
