Tour Description


Journey to the city of Israel and Palestine where most of the biblical events happened. Travel back in time while walking along the old city of Jerusalem. Visit Tabgha, where Jesus turned five loaves of bread and 2 fish that fed 5000 people to the crusader port of Acre and the great port town of Caesarea. Wander in the old city of Jaffa and at the downtown Tel Aviv.

Day 1
Ben Gurion Airport – Arrival

Arrive to Ben Gurion Airport. Enjoy a private transfer of around 50 minutes to your hotel in Jerusalem. Time to rest or start your own explorations in the Holy City. Overnight Jerusalem Hotel.

Day 2
Jerusalem – Jerusalem Old City – Jerusalem

Jerusalem Old City

Rise and shine for an early start of your Jerusalem tour. We enter the Old City the Dung Gate; visit the holy sites of the three monotheistic religions represented in Jerusalem. If the situation allows ascend the Temple Mount with the Dome of the Rock. Visit the Western Wall, the last remnant of the Second Temple and the holiest site for Jews. Then we follow the 14 stations of the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The church is built over the place where Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected. Short drive to the nearby Mount Zion. See here the Last Supper Room, the Dormition Abbey and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, the traditional site where St. Peter denied Jesus three times. After a long day, return transfer to your hotel for a rest.

Day 3
Jerusalem – Masada – Qumran - Jericho – Jerusalem

Masada

This morning journey towards the south, and drive along the Dead Sea to the cliff top fortress of Masada. It had been built by Herod the Great and the place is an important symbol of bravery to the Jewish people. The siege of the Romans ended with a suicide of all Jewish fighters in the first century. Ascend the top by a 3 minute cable car ride, spend time visiting the remains of the Northern Palace, a Roman bath, huge water cisterns, and the siege wall.

Qumran

Continue to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947 by an Arab boy. The scrolls contained fragments of biblical and sectarian texts, some of them more than 2,000 years old. If time permits, experience to float on the salty waters of the Dead Sea.

Jericho

Drive to Jericho, believed to be the oldest city, but the lowest settlement in the world. Start with a photo stop at the old Sycamore Tree. According to the Bible the tax collector Zacchaeus climbed up in this tree to have a better look at Jesus. Onto the archaeological site Hisham’s Palace, including the remains of a mosque and mosaic floors. It had been built in the 8th century during the Omayyad period.

Return back to your hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 4
Jerusalem – Mt of Olives - Yad Vashem – Bethlehem – Bethlehem

Mt of Olives

Proceed to the Mt. of Olives to start with a panoramic view of the old city, divided into the Jewish, the Christian, the Armenian and the Muslim quarter. Walk down to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was arrested.

Yad Vashem

Drive to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Remembrance Centre. Continue to Bethlehem in the West Bank, the birthplace of Jesus. Visit the Church of the Nativity, a major pilgrimage site since the 4th century, and the Milk Grotto.

Bethlehem – Sea of Galilee – Tabgha – Capernaum – Haifa

Sea of Galilee

Head on to Tiberias and have a scenic boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

Tabgha

Continue to nearby Tabgha, the site where Jesus performed the Miracle of the multiplication of loaves and fishes. Nearby is the Church of Primacy, built in 1934 in basalt over a massive rock called "Mensa Christi". Here Jesus commissioned St. Peter to be the leader of his church.

Capernaum

The next visit will be to Capernaum, the home of St. Peter. See the nearby archaeological excavations of the synagogue and community.

Haifa

Visit the beautiful Baha’i Gardens with its 19 terraces and the Shrine of the Bab. The Baha’i faith developed in the 19th century, and this is one of their religious places. Then check-in your hotel.

Haifa – Acre – Caesarea – Jaffa – Tel Aviv

Acre

After breakfast, we drive to the ancient port city of Acre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring impressive fortified city walls and the underground Crusader passageways used by the Knights of St. John.

Caesarea

Then to Caesarea Maritima. Built under Herold the Great the harbor offered space for up to 300 ships! Caesarea was the headquarter of Pontius Pilate, yes, the one, who ordered the crucifixion of Jesus. See the ruins of a Roman theater, once used for chariot races and gladiator fights, the remains of Herod's palace and the aqueduct with a beautiful beach in front of it.

Jaffa

Continue to Jaffa, one of the ancient gateways at the Mediterranean to the Holy Land. Through its port the Cedar trees of Solomon’s Temple were brought. Your walking tour starts at the Clock Tower, takes you to Mahmoudiya Mosque, St Peter’s Church along the small alleys with art galleries and craft shops.

• Temple Mount Opening Hours: Mon-Thu, winter time: 07:30-10:30, 12:30-13:30 – Mon-Thu, summer time: 08:30-11:30, 13:30-14:30 - Fri & Sat closed.
• For the visit of religious sites you need to dress modestly and cover shoulders and knees.
• For the Dead Sea beach don’t forget flip flops and water sandals.

• 25% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 30 to 08 days before departure.
• 100% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 07 to 01 days before departure or no show.
