Pickup hotel lobby and start your 4x4 adventure. Drive through the countryside towards the Ouzoud Waterfalls, the most famous in Morocco. The area is quite impressive with the 110 meters high falls. You have time to explore the area and might see wild monkeys. Afternoon we proceed to reach the picturesque lake of Ben El Ouidane. You will drive through the magnificent Atlas mountain roads surrounded by holm oaks going along the oueds (rivers) around. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Driving Distance: 190 km
After breakfast we will cross the Middle Atlas to reach the small town of Kelaa M’Gouna. This oasis in the Dades Valley is well known for its yearly Roses Festival in May, lasting several days. The town produces rose water, essential oils and other cosmetic products. We head further to the town of Boumalne Dades. Afternoon take a short ride to the Dades Gorge with its spectacular scenery, coloured walls, rock formations and the Kasbahs overlooking the Dades River. Dinner and overnight at hotel. We continue our four-wheel-drive journey to the town of Tinghir, in the middle of an oasis covered with lush palm trees. Nearby we find the Todra Gorge, a string of wadis with dramatic rocky walls sometimes towering 300 meters above you. Afternoon pass by Tinejdad and stop at Rissani, the birthplace of the actual Alaouite Dynasty. The mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif is located at the edge of the town. Reach Erfoud, the administrative capital for the region located between the Middle Atlas Mountains to the north and the Sahara desert to the south. Dinner and accommodation at hotel. Embark 4x4s to proceed to the village of Tamegroute, once one of the most important Quranic libraries in North Africa. You have the chance to visit here the existing libraries with around 4,000 manuscripts, and a clay pottery factory. Possible lunch (optional) at Tazzarine, a small Berber village. You find here five marabout tombs, burial places of spiritual leaders. Close by is Ait Ouazik, showing petroglyphs from 5,000 years BC. Passing by N'kob, a region where we can admire the pre-Saharan and Berber villages on the mountain slopes, we arrive at Zagora. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Driving Distance: 280 km
Breakfast and check out from hotel. Travel towards Quarzazate, at the strategic position at the crossroads of Marrakech and Agadir. Stop at the Kasbah Taourirt from the 19th century. Proceed to the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou located on the south foot of the Atlas mountain chain. This fortified Berber village has served as setting for many great Hollywood movies and is actually an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Proceed through the Tizi N’tichka Pass to the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Driving Distance: 350 km
Set off with your local guide to uncover Marrakech, the second oldest Imperial city of Morocco. The historical sightseeing includes the Menara Garden built in the 12th century and the Saadian Tombs. In this mausoleum you find the tombs of several Saadian sultans which ruled in the 16th and 17th century. Admire the design with floral motifs, calligraphy, wood carvings and marble. Proceed to the Bahia Palace, a fusion of Islamic and Moroccan style. After a stop at the red-stoned Koutoubia Mosque visit Dar Si Said Museum, the Museum of Moroccan Arts. Afternoon stroll in the alleyways of the largest Souq and handicraft quarters of the country. Then to the famous Jemaa el-Fna square with its non-stop entertainment. You find here storytellers, snake charmers, musicians, acrobats and delicious street food. Overnight Marrakech.
Dependent on your departure time you will be picked up from your hotel lobby and transferred to Marrakech Airport to say farewell.
