Amman - Amman City Tour - Jerash - Amman

Amman City

In the morning sightseeing in Amman, already mentioned in the Bible as Rabbath Ammon. Visit the Citadel hill and the Archaeological Museum, housing an excellent collection like several Dead Sea Scrolls. We stroll via the Souq, where you get an idea of everyday life, to the Roman Theatre from 2nd century with 6000 seats. Visit to the Royal Car Museum (Tuesday closed), housing the classic car collection of the late King Hussein.

We leave to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. Visit the spectacular forum, Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum and the Temple of Artemis. Dinner at Kan Zaman Restaurant, an old caravanserai, overnight Amman hotel.

Amman - Mt Nebo - Madaba - Kerak - Petra

Mt Nebo

After breakfast drive to Mt. Nebo, the place where Prophet Moses gazed at the Promised Land before he died. You visit the old monastery and overlook the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Jericho and Jerusalem.

Today, proceed to the red rose city Petra, the biggest attraction of Jordan. Petra was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundation of a commercial empire that extended into Syria. With the guide pass the canyon, the so called Siq, to see the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. After that, free time to explore Petra on your own. In the evening, cook and eat your dinner at the Petra Kitchen, learn the secrets of the Jordanian/Arabic cuisine and prepare your meal alongside local women, under the supervision of a trained chef. Head south with 1.5 hours drive to the protected area of Wadi Rum, one of the most impressing desert landscapes in the world. Here still Bedouins live in a traditional way, and by 4x4 Jeep tour you discover canyons, sand dunes and Nabatean rock inscriptions.

Today our journey takes us to Dana Nature Reserve, Jordan's largest reserve with a diverse flora and fauna, consisting of mountains and wadis. From the village, inhabited since more than 400 years by Bedouins we start a short hike about 2-3 hours.

Continue to the Dead Sea, flanked by mountains and the rolling hills of Jerusalem. Check in at your hotel, and experience to float effortlessly in the salty water at the lowest point on earth.

Practical Info


• For entry visa regularities see our blog Visa and Passport Requirements.
• Official check in time at hotels 15:00 – check out time at hotels 12:00.
• Breakfast at hotels is served in the main restaurant.
• The driver/tour guide escorts you according to the booked itinerary, he is not 24/7 at your disposal.
• You walk several km in Petra, so bear in mind good walking shoes and a backpack for beverage, camera etc.
• All guides in Jordan are licensed by the Ministry of Tourism in Jordan and are not part of our team.
• In case of rain the government may decide to close Petra for safety and security reasons.
• For the Dead Sea beach don’t forget swimwear, flip flops and water sandals.
• The Petra ticket includes a 700 meters horse ride from the main gate to the beginning of the Siq. The ride is not mandatory; the horse handler expects a tip of 5 JOD per horse.
• 4x4s in Wadi Rum are old vehicles without A/C and seat belt. They belong to the local Bedouin association.
• Wear comfortable walking shoes and depending on season pack sun protection.
• To respect the local culture please cover shoulders and knees.
• It is not permitted to bring telescopes or drones without permission to Jordan.

- After booking the tour with us online, one of our consultants will get in touch within 24 hours. You need to pay then a 25% deposit by credit card or by bank transfer. The full payment is due latest 14 days before tour start.
- Cancellations or changes need to be sent in written form. Charges are as follows:
• 25 $USD of the total price of the trip for cancellations from the date of booking until 31 days before departure.
• 25% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 30 to 08 days before departure.
• 100% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 07 to 01 days before departure or no show.
- For refunds we do not cover transaction fees charged by credit card companies and banks.
