If you want to be a little more active and experience at the same time natural beauty, visit Wadi Mujib, the lowest nature reserve in the world. You follow here an easy to moderate water trail into a colourful gorge until a waterfall. Close by is the Dead Sea Beach, inviting you for a leisurely stay before returning to Amman. The tour is available only from 01 April until 31 October.

Wadi Mujib Siq Trail and Dead Sea from Amman

Wadi Mujib Siq Trail
Pick up Amman hotel or residence and drive 1.5 hours to Wadi Mujib Reserve, the lowest nature reserve in the world. Here you will do the self-guided Siq Trail following a water stream deeper inside the cool canyon. Depending on your fitness level you can scramble along small waterfalls, but the farer you get the higher the water, sometimes up to shoulders.

Dead Sea
Along the Dead Sea drive to a beach with showers and lockers. With 400 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth, wherever since the days of Herod the Great, people have flocked to in search of its curative secrets. The area is characterized by high annual temperatures, low humidity and high atmospheric pressure, the air is extremely oxygen rich. With the highest content of minerals and salts in the world, the Dead Sea water possesses anti-inflammatory properties, and the dark mud found on its shores have been used for over 2000 years for therapeutic purposes.

• For the visit of the Mujib Siq water trail you need to bring shoes and trousers for change. A waterproof bag for a camera is recommended.
• The Mujib Siq trail is open from 01 April until 31 October and entry is permitted for 18 years old and above only.
