Jordan Visa & Passport Requirements – Complete Travel Guide

If you are planning a trip to Jordan, understanding the visa and passport requirements is essential for a smooth and stress-free journey. Below is a comprehensive guide covering entry visas, passport validity, visa fees, free visa arrangements, restricted nationalities, and special cases.

 

Passport Validity Requirements

All travelers entering Jordan must hold a passport that is valid for at least six (6) months beyond the duration of their stay. Passports with shorter validity may result in denied boarding or entry.

 

Visa on Arrival for Jordan

Citizens of unrestricted nationalities can obtain a Jordan entry visa upon arrival at most international border points, except the King Hussein / Allenby Bridge.

    •    Visa type: Single-entry tourist visa
    •    Validity: 28 days
    •    Visa fee: 40 Jordanian Dinars (approximately USD 60 per person)

The visa is issued directly upon arrival at Jordanian airports and land borders (with noted exceptions).

 

How to Obtain a Free Entry Visa to Jordan

Travelers who book their trip with us as a licensed Jordan tour operator may qualify for a free entry visa, including arrivals via the King Hussein Border, provided the following conditions are met:

Free Visa Conditions:
    •    Minimum stay of 2 nights and 3 days in Jordan
    •    Advance submission of passport details for each traveler:
    •    Full name (as per passport)
    •    Passport number
    •    Passport expiry date
    •    Date of birth
    •    Nationality
    •    All travelers must hold unrestricted nationalities
    •    All travelers must arrive and depart together
    •    All transportation services during the tour must be booked with our company

Once these requirements are fulfilled, the visa is arranged free of charge upon arrival.

 

Restricted Nationalities – Advance Visa Required

Travelers holding restricted nationalities are generally required to apply for a visa in advance at the nearest Jordanian embassy or consulate in their country of residence.

Important Exception:

If a traveler from a restricted nationality holds a valid residency permit (minimum 6 months validity) in:
    •    A Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) country
    •    Europe
    •    The United States

They may be eligible for a visa on arrival, subject to immigration approval. If this applies to you, please inform us in advance so we can advise accordingly.

 

Jordan e-Visa Option

Another alternative for eligible travelers is to apply for a Jordan e-Visa through the official Ministry of Interior portal:

Approval is subject to nationality and immigration regulations.
