Amman – Amman City Tour – Jerash – Amman

Amman

Start the day with a city tour in Jordan's capital. Amman, already mentioned in the Bible as Rabbath Ammon, is a bustling modern city. The historical places are located in downtown, where we visit the Citadel with remains from the Roman to the early Islamic period. Then we have a round in the Archaeological Museum. We stroll via the Souq, where you get an idea of everyday life, to the Roman Theatre from the 2nd century with 6000 seats.

Jerash

We leave to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. The well-preserved ruins had been hidden for centuries in sand before the excavations started in 1925. Wander along the spectacular Forum, paved and colonnaded streets, the Nymphaeum, theatres, and the Temple of Artemis.

Return to Amman and overnight.

Amman – Mt. Nebo – King’s Way – Petra

Mt Nebo

After breakfast, drive 1 hour to Mt. Nebo, the place where Prophet Moses gazed at the Promised Land before he died and alleged to be his burial place. You visit an old monastery, overlook the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and parts of the Holy Land.

King’s Way

Driving along the famous ancient caravan route the King's Way, we have a short stop in Wadi Al-Mujib, a great wide valley with magnificent geological formation.

Continue to Petra hotel and overnight.

Petra Visit – Wadi Rum

Petra

After breakfast proceed to Petra, the spectacular rose rock city. Prepare yourself for walking over uneven terrain. Petra is the biggest attraction of Jordan and was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs. Meet your local guide who will give you an understanding of Petra’s history within the next 2.5 hours. Start with a walk to the canyon, the so-called Siq, at its end you see the most beautiful monument, the Treasury. The building rises over 40 meters, and is carved into the sandstone like most of Petra’s architecture. Continue via the Street of Facades, passing by the Theatre to the Royal Tombs. Your guide says farewell. Free time to uncover Petra on your own, climb for example the 800 stairs to the impressive Monastery El Deir. Return along the same trail back to the main entrance.

Wadi Rum

In the afternoon, drive 1.5 hour southwards to Wadi Rum, known also as the “Valley of the Moon”. Transfer to your camp and overnight.

Wadi Rum – Wadi Rum Tour – Aqaba Free Leisure – Amman

Wadi Rum

In the morning, hop in a 4x4 and with your Bedouin driver uncover more of the vast desert. The rugged landscape, the changing colours of sands and mountains, the serene atmosphere will make you understand why Wadi Rum is one of the most impressive desert landscapes in the world. The setting had been used for Hollywood movies. You see canyons, red sand dunes, Nabatean rock inscriptions and a natural rock bridge formed over centuries.

Aqaba

Continue to drive 1 hour to Aqaba where you will have free leisure on your own. You may enjoy and relax at the beach, do some water activities or visit the spice Souq in Aqaba.

Amman

Then drive 4 hour back to Amman and overnight.

Practical Info


• Rates are not valid from 29 Dec 2024 to 02 Jan 2025.
• Best time to visit is from September to May, the summer months June to August are very hot.
• Check-in time at hotels is 14:00, check-out time at hotels is 12:00 noon.
• Dress modestly when traveling in the UAE. That is, loose long trousers or long skirts and long sleeves to ankle and wrist. No shorts for men, no tight and transparent clothing. When visiting a mosque women must cover their head with a scarf.
• Please pack a jacket or sweater as the air-conditioning is often a difference to the actual temperatures. Slightly warmer closes are recommended for the winter months.
• The desert safari involves off-road driving through rough terrain and rugged areas. Visitors should not participate if their health or any pre-existing medical conditions like back problems may be adversely affected.
• Opening Hours Jumeirah Mosque: 10:00-20:00, Fri closed.
• Opening Hours Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Sat to Thu, 9:00-22:00 and Fri, 16:30-22:00. During Ramadan Sat to Thu, 9:00-14:00, Fri closed.
• Photography: Ask permission before taking photos of people, particularly women. It is not allowed to take photos of government buildings, military installations, airports and ports.

- Cancellations or changes need to be sent in written form. Charges are as follows:
• 25% of the total price of the trip for cancellations from the date of booking until 16 days before departure.
• 100% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 15 to 01 days before departure or no show.
- For refunds, we do not cover transaction fees charged by credit card companies and banks.
