Grand Egyptian Museum

Today we tour the incredible Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza. This vast complex showcases an astonishing collection of artefacts from nearly every period of ancient Egyptian history. Many items are being exhibited for the first time.

Old Cairo

Continue to Old Cairo which has the remains of old Babylon's fortress walls partially surrounding the Coptic Quarter with its fascinating churches, the convent of St. George and the Ben Ezra Synagogue.

Khan El Khalil Bazaar

The tour will end by visiting Cairo’s most famous open-air market, the Khan El Khalil Grand Bazaar, located in the old area of Al-Qahira. Here you can buy souvenirs such as silverwares, faux antiques, stained glass lamps, incense and more. Return to your hotel in Cairo.

Giza Pyramids & Sphinx - Flight to Luxor - Nile Cruise

Giza Pyramids & Sphinx

Drive to the Giza Pyramids. Khufu's pyramid is the northernmost and largest of the three. In classical antiquity it was considered as one of the seven wonders of the world and is the only one to have survived. Khephren's monument can be easily identified by the casing stones that still cling to its pointed top. The much smaller pyramid of Mycerinus had not been completed. See also the Great Sphinx, part of the funerary complex of Khephren.

Start the visit of the eastern bank of Luxor, with the Temple of Karnak, which dominates the entire site. Continue to the Temple of Luxor, the work of two great pharaohs Ramses II and Ramses III.

Luxor West Bank

Proceed to the West Bank including the Valley of the Kings with the tombs of the most important pharaohs of the new empire, the Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the gigantic and grandiose Colossi of Memnon. Return to the cruise ship embarkation and sailing to Edfu. Overnight on board.

Nile Cruise: Edfu & Kom Ombo

Edfu

Breakfast on board. The tour begins by visiting the Temple of Horus in Edfu, which is considered to be one of the most well-preserved temples in Egypt. It is also the repository of the most detailed legacy on matters of cult and temple function. You’ll have your lunch back on board the ship and sail on to Kom Ombo.

Kom Ombo

In the afternoon you will have time to explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, where you’ll learn about the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus, whose monuments decorate each half of the temple. After the tour you will get back to the ship, you will sail to Aswan and enjoy a leisurely dinner on board. Overnight on board the ship.

Optional Abu Simbel Visit

If you wish to make an optional visit to Abu Simbel. Early in the morning, drive about 3.5 hours to visit the amazing Abu Simbel Temples which were built by the well-known Ramesses II. The biggest temple is called the Great Temple and dedicated to the famous god Ra-Horakhty. While the smaller temple is dedicated to King Ramesses II, himself and to his wife Queen Nefertari.

By motorboat reach Agilkia Island, where you will visit Temple of Philae that was erected during the Greco-Roman period and was dedicated to goddess Isis. On the walls of the temple of Philae were inscribed the latest hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions. Overnight on board the ship.

Your driver takes you to Mt Nebo. From here overlook the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and parts of the Holy Land. According to the Bible this is the place where Moses was granted to see the Promised Land before he died and alleged to be his burial place.

Short ride to Madaba, the town known in Jordan as the “City of Mosaic”. See the famous 6th century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land at St. George’s Church.

King's Way

Travel along the famous ancient caravan route of the King’s Way. Short photo stop in Wadi Al Mujib, a great wide valley with magnificent geological formation.

Kerak Castle

Then to the remains of the Crusader castle Kerak. Explore the underground passageways, enjoy the view and imagine how the forces of Salah ad-Din besieged this stronghold several times.

Petra Visit - Wadi Rum Camp

Today visit Petra, the spectacular rose rock city. Petra is the biggest attraction of Jordan and was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabatean Arabs. Start with a walk to the canyon, the so-called Siq, at its end you see the most beautiful monument, the Treasury. The building rises over 40 meters and is carved into sandstone like most of Petra’s architecture. Continue via the Street of Facades, passing by the Theatre to the Royal Tombs.

Wadi Rum Camp

From Petra the journey takes us 1.5 hours to Wadi Rum. Check into your campsite, where dinner and the desert night with a hopefully starry sky awaits you.

Wadi Rum has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and this dramatic desert is Jordan’s largest wadi. Hop in a 4x4 and with your Bedouin driver uncover more of the vast desert. The rugged landscape, the changing colours of sand and mountains, the serene atmosphere will make you understand why Wadi Rum is one of the most impressive desert landscapes in the world. The regular departure days of the 4-night cruises are Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.  • Prices for the period from 23 December till 07 January are upon request.

- Cancellations or changes need to be sent in written form. Charges are as follows:
• 100 $USD of the total price of the trip for cancellations from the date of booking until 45 days before arrival.
• 10% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 40 to 31 days before departure.
• 25% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 30 to 15 days before departure.
• 100% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 14 to 01 days before departure or no show.
