Tbilisi – Ananuri – Truso – Gergeti – Kazbegi

Tbilisi
Begin your journey by departing from Tbilisi, driving north towards the captivating region of Kazbegi, also known as Stepantsminda. The road stretches approximately 178 km, offering picturesque views along the way.

Ananuri Fortress
Pass by the historic Ananuri Fortress, a renowned landmark that stands as a testament to Georgia's architectural heritage.

Truso Valley
Enter the scenic Truso Valley for a rewarding "warm-up" trek. This 6.0 km hike includes an ascent of 214 meters and a descent of 95 meters. Journey through this captivating valley, reaching the ruins of ZakaGori Castle near the border area. Along the way, encounter the bubbling Abano Lake and numerous travertines that adorn the landscape.

Kazbegi
After the invigorating hike, continue your drive to the heart of Kazbegi town. Check in to your accommodation and rest. In the afternoon, take a short but breathtaking hike to Gergeti Trinity Church. The roundtrip hike covers 5.0 km and involves an elevation gain and drop of 377 meters. Ascend to this iconic church, perched against the dramatic backdrop of the Caucasus Mountains. Back to your accommodation and overnight.

Gergeti Campsite
Morning time, drive 6 km up to the Gergeti campsite near the Gergeti Trinity Church. Prepare for an exhilarating day of hiking amidst the stunning landscapes of the Kazbegi region.

Saberstse Pass
Embark on an 8.0 km hike that promises a memorable ascent. This hike involves an elevation gain of 775 meters. Set your sights on the towering Kazbegi mountain as you make your way towards Sabertse Pass, reaching an elevation of 3100 meters. Weather permitting, this pass rewards you with breathtaking panoramic vistas of the surrounding area and the nearby glacier.

Altihut
Continue your journey as you descend a bit further to reach Altihut, an alpine basecamp situated at an elevation of 3014 meters above sea level. Take a well-deserved break and relish a hearty lunch paired with a comforting cup of hot tea. The serene alpine environment provides the perfect backdrop for a rejuvenating meal.

After indulging in the alpine experience, begin your walk back to Stepantsminda.

Return to your cozy Kazbegi Guesthouse, where a delectable dinner awaits you. Overnight in Kazbegi.

Kazbergi – Juta – Chaukhi Mountains – Tbilisi

Sno Canyon
Early morning drive to the enchanting Sno Canyon, a picturesque starting point for your adventure. Your destination, the highest mountain village in the area, Juta, perched at an altitude of 2250 meters.

Juta lake
Upon reaching Juta village, prepare yourself again to hike the Juta Lake. The round trip covers a distance of 10 km and takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete. Traverse the captivating landscapes as you make your way to the serene lake nestled at the base of the imposing Chaukhi Mountain. Revel in the natural beauty surrounding you and savor the tranquility of the alpine environment.

Tbilisi
After the hike, indulge in a late lunch prior you return to your accommodation in Tbilisi.

Practical Info
• This tour is a sharing tour. For 6 travelers and above or custom itinerary please contact us.
• Check in time at hotels is 14:00, check out time at hotels is 12:00 noon.
• Do not forget to bring; comfortable walking shoes, rain jacket, windbreaker or umbrella, hat or sun visor, sun glasses, sunscreen, glasses case and medical prescriptions (if you take any) with label or prescription in case asked by officials.
• For the visit of orthodox churches and monasteries dress modestly. Wear long trousers or skirts; women need to cover hair and shoulders.
• When taking photos in churches and monasteries do not use the flash.
• The driver will serve as your tour guide during the tour.
• We provide 2 bottle of mineral water per person per day.

- After booking the tour with us online, one of our consultants will get in touch within 24 hours. You need to pay a 30% deposit by credit card or by bank transfer. The full payment is due 31 days before tour start.
- Cancellations or changes need to be sent in written form. Charges are as follows:
• 30% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 44 to 32 days before departure.
• 50% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 31 to 14 days before departure.
• 70% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 14 to 08 days before departure.
• 100% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 07 to 01 days before departure or no show.
- For refunds we do not cover transaction fees charged by credit card companies and banks.
