On this tour you get to know the highlights of Jordan's cultural treasures and end the trip with 3 days scuba diving in the Red Sea. The Gulf of Aqaba is one of the best diving sites in the world with excellent coral reefs and an outstanding underwater world. The diving sites are accessible from the shore, and the great variety suites all diving levels.

Upon arrival at Amman Airport our representative welcomes you with a sign after passing the customs. Then transfer to your hotel in Amman where the rest of the day is free.

Amman - Amman City Tour - 3 Desert Castles - Amman

Amman City Tour

Start the day with a city tour in Jordan capital: visit he Citadel with Roman, Byzantine and Islamic remains as well as the excellent Archaeological Museum. We stroll via the Souq to the Roman Theatre from 2nd century.

3 Desert Castles

Continue to the Desert castles in eastern Jordan. We visit the fortress-like Qasr Kharanah, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Amra with early Islamic fresco paintings and the black basalt fort at Azraq.

Amman - Umm Qais - Jerash - Amman

Umm Qais

In the morning we drive two hours to Umm Qais, member of the famous Decapolis, a union of 10 cities, founded by Alexander the Great. Here you have an overwhelming view over the north Jordan Valley, the Golan Heights and the Sea of Galilee.

We leave to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. Visit here the Cardo, the Nymphaeum and the Temple of Artemis.

Amman - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Dead Sea Beach - Petra

After breakfast drive to Madaba popular for Byzantine mosaic art, as an example, we will see the famous 6th century map of Palestine in St. George's church.

Mt Nebo

We head for Mount Nebo, the place where Prophet Moses gazed at the Promised Land before he died and his alleged burial place. You visit the old monastery and overlook the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and parts of Israel.

Then we drive to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea, where you have leisure time and the chance to float on water.

Today, explore the breathtaking rock city Petra, the biggest attraction of Jordan. Around the 6th century B.C. the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe, settled in the area and founded a commercial empire choosing Petra as the capital. Here they carved magnificent monuments in the sandstone. On horseback or on foot you reach the canyon, the so called Siq, and continue from here to the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. From here you walk along the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle.

In the afternoon you drive 1.5 hrs to Wadi Rum desert, where you have dinner and spend the night in a camp in tents.

Wadi Rum - Aqaba

Wadi Rum, the wild desert landscape, already fascinated the British liaison officer Lawrence of Arabia describing it as "vast, echoing and godlike". By a two hour Bedouin Jeep tour you get an idea of the area with its canyons, sand dunes and Nabatean rock inscriptions. Then onto Aqaba hotel, remainder of the day free, overnight in Aqaba.

Aqaba: Scuba Diving in the Red Sea

The Gulf of Aqaba offers one of the most beautiful diving sites world wide with 500 different fish species and 158 living coral species. Today you will have two dives taking place on the southern part of the coast. Discover more of the well preserved coral reefs, home to parrot fish, angel fish, butterfly fish, moray eels, lion fish and sea anemones, the clown fish and turtles. Overnight at hotel.

Practical Info

• Official check in time at hotels 15:00 – check out time at hotels 12:00.
• Breakfast at hotels is served in the main restaurant.
• The driver/tour guide escorts you according to the booked itinerary, he is not 24/7 at your disposal.
• You walk several km in Petra, so bear in mind good walking shoes and a backpack for beverage, camera etc.
• The spot guides in Jerash & Petra are licensed by the Ministry of Tourism in Jordan and are not part of our team.
• In case of rain the government may decide to close Petra for safety and security reasons.
• For the Dead Sea beach don’t forget swimwear, flip flops and water sandals.
• The Petra ticket includes a 700 meters horse ride from the main gate to the beginning of the Siq. The ride is not mandatory; the horse handler expects a tip of 5 JOD per horse.
• 4x4s in Wadi Rum are old vehicles without A/C and seat belt. They belong to the local Bedouin association.
• For camping we recommend bringing a torch light.
• Wear comfortable walking shoes and depending on season pack sun protection.
• You have to be a certified diver and bring your internationally recognized qualification.
• Your dives are operated by a professional instructor.
• Important: After diving your body has to adjust. You have to wait minimum 12 hours till you can continue to travel in Jordan and wait minimum 24 hours till you board a flight.
• The hotel in Aqaba charges supplements during Eastern, Christmas, Islamic Eid Al Adha & Eid Al Fitr and New Year
• To respect the local culture please cover shoulders and knees.
• It is not permitted to bring telescopes or drones without permission to Jordan.

- After booking the tour with us online, one of our consultants will get in touch within 24 hours. You need to pay then a 25% deposit by credit card or by bank transfer. The full payment is due latest 14 days before tour start.
- Cancellations or changes need to be sent in written form. Charges are as follows:
• 25 $USD of the total price of the trip for cancellations from the date of booking until 31 days before departure.
• 25% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 30 to 08 days before departure.
• 100% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 07 to 01 days before departure or no show.
- For refunds we do not cover transaction fees charged by credit card companies and banks.
