Essaouria

Early departure to Essaouira, once known as Mogador, at the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the city full of Portuguese history with the most ancient, still preserved fortified port. See the harbour with colourful boats and browse the narrow streets.

Casablanca

Afternoon, start the journey to Casablanca. Along the route stop in the village of Qualidia and in the town El Jadida. Here you visit the subterranean Portuguese Cistern from the 16th century. Overnight in Casablanca.

Casablanca is considered as the economic capital of Morocco. After breakfast at the hotel, start your tour. Visit with your guide the Habous district with many traditional and historic buildings. See the Royal Palace from outside, Mohamed V Square, and the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque.

Continue about 3 hours to Fez, a city brimming with historical and architectural treasures. Overnight at hotel in Fez.

Medieval Medina

Today discover Fez, the spiritual city of Morocco. With your local guide enter the bustling Medieval Medina, consisting of Fez El Bali and Fez Jdid. Fez was an important centre of education, that is why you find here many madrasas and mosques. Through winding alleys, the colours, smells and sounds, you reach the Al Attarine Madrasa and Bou Anania Madrasa. Other highlights are the Nejjarine Funduq, an example of the Moroccan riad, the beautiful Moulay Idris Mausoleum and see the exterior of the Karaouine Mosque from the 9th century. In the afternoon, continue along the Souqs, to watch traditional crafts and working artisans. In Fez Jdid see the Royal Palace and the Jewish Mellah. Overnight in Fez.

Check out from hotel. Stop at the Roman site of Volubilis, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. From special interest are the well preserved mosaics in the House of Orpheus, and the House of the Athlete.

Rabat

Continue about 2.5 hours to the administrative capital Rabat. Admire the masterful architecture of the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a significant historical landmark. Then visit the Kasbah of the Ouadayas. Proceed via the Highway to your hotel in Marrakech.

Menara Garden & Saadian Tombs

Set off with your local guide to uncover Marrakech, the second oldest Imperial city of Morocco. The historical sightseeing includes the Menara Garden built in the 12th century and the Saadian Tombs. In this mausoleum you find the tombs of several Saadian sultans which ruled in the 16th and 17th century. Admire the design with floral motifs, calligraphy, wood carvings and marble.

Bahia Palace, Souq & Jemaa el-Fna

Proceed to the Bahia Palace, a fusion of Islamic and Moroccan style. After a stop at the red-stoned Koutoubia Mosque visit Dar Si Said Museum, the Museum of Moroccan Arts. Afternoon stroll in the alleyways of the largest Souq and handicraft quarters of the country. Then to the famous Jemaa el-Fna square with its non-stop entertainment. You find here storytellers, snake charmers, musicians, acrobats and delicious street food. Overnight in Marrakech.

Via the 2,260 meters high Tizi N’tichka pass drive about 3 hours to Ait Benhaddou. This hilltop site has not changed much since the 11th century. Visit this beautiful Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that served as décor for many great movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Troy, Gladiator and more.

Tamegroute & Tazzarine

Check out from hotel. Short ride of 20 minutes to Tamegroute village known for its pottery. You might have the chance to visit here a library with ancient manuscripts. We continue along the route to Erfoud passing by N’kob with splendid pre-Saharan scenery and the small Berber village of Tazzarine. You find here five marabout tombs, burial places of spiritual leaders.

In the afternoon, arrive in Erfoud, you gateway to the Sahara Desert. You have the option (not included) to do a 4x4 excursion to the Merzouga Dunes.

We continue our journey to the town of Tinghir, in the middle of an oasis covered with lush palm trees. Nearby we find the Todra Gorge, a string of wadis with dramatic rocky walls sometimes towering 300 meters above you.

• The tour requires at least 2 participants. • Non-Muslims are not allowed to enter mosques. • Dress code: In general both men and women should cover shoulders, upper arms and knees. Avoid transparent and tightfitting clothes. • In summer time pack lightweight clothes. Warm clothing is needed for the cooler months, November until March.

• 15% of the total price of the trip for cancellations made 59 to 41 days before departure.
• 30% of the total price of the trip for cancellations made 40 to 21 days before departure.
• 50% of the total price of the trip for cancellations made 20 to 11 days before departure.
• 75% of the total price of the trip for cancellations made 10 to 04 days before departure.
• 100% of the total price of the trip for cancellations made 03 days and less before departure including no-show.
